"The Age of Aquarius"

For the twenty-nine folks out there who burn music CDs and actually read (and maybe kinda believe) their daily horoscopes, here’s a recommended list of quality rock songs about water.   Aquarians should definitely pay heed.   Wetter is always better.   Seriously.   For those born under a different sign, the resulting killer CD will not improve your love life or drop strokes off your golf game. It could, however, enhance your musical karma and empower you to just say no to stupid and mindless songs forever.
The list, in no particular order, is as follows:

  • Water Line – Dire Straits
  • Sailing Shoes – Little Feat
  • Rock Me On the Water – Jackson Browne
  • Wooden Ships – Crosby, Stills & Nash
  • A Pirate Looks at Forty – Jimmy Buffett
  • Down by the River – Neil Young
  • Let it Rain – Eric Clapton
  • Sailing to Philadelphia – Mark Knopfler (w/James Taylor)
  • Hey Papa – Terrance Boylan
  • And It Stoned Me – Van Morrison
  • Crystal – Fleetwood Mac
  • Fat Man in the Bathtub – Little Feat
  • Blue Water – Poco
  • Wind on the Water – Crosby & Nash
  • Water of Love – Dire Straits
  • If I Had a Boat – Lyle Lovett
  • The Rain Song – Led Zeppelin
  • Rain – Beatles

Our list of eclectic and electric classics may have omitted your favorite water tune.   Substitution is cool.   Burn baby burn.      GD
